ACCESSIBILITY

As members of the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALPPA) we welcome visits by people with disabilities and will do everything possible to ensure a safe and pleasurable visit and are committed to helping you to participate in as many activities as possible. However, certain rides and attractions can be physically demanding and vigorous. We therefore reserve the right to refuse admission to certain rides, should it be felt there is a danger to a particular individual for whatever reason.

Not all rides are suitable for all guests and each has strict operating requirements based on the containment of the ride, the force of the ride and the evacuation procedure. These are set in accordance with the ride manufacturer and external Ride Inspectors' requirements and exceptions can not be made. Our staff have to follow all rules and restrictions for health and safety reasons therefore please do not ask staff to break these rules; they are there for your safety and for the safety of others. Whilst at Codona’s your safety is our prime concern.

SAFETY POLICY

Codona’s Amusement Park Directors, Management and every Team Members are committed to ensuring the safety and well being of all our guests and employees.

All of our rides and attractions undergo a rigours daily maintenance program with every ride checked and tested before every days operation. Our rides are also inspected and certified annually by independent electrical and mechanical engineers through the UK’s ‘ADIPS’ program.

OUR ENVIRONMENT

Codona's Promise

We promise to care for the environment, our community and everyone’s well-being. We will continually look to improve our contribution to these areas in everything we do and are committed to helping create a happier, more sustainable future for all.Codona’s Amusement Park is committed to operating responsibly and fairly across everything we do. On this page you will find information about us and our operation including how we try to look after the environment and how we strive to give our guests the best and most enjoyable day out we can.

Sustainability

Electricity Usage and Generation
We are actively looking to add solar generation capacity to our complex with a goal of generating at least 50% of our power requirements.

We also actively take steps to minimise our power requirements, for example ensuring all lighting throughout the park is LED. LED bulbs are more efficient and, when installed with sensors instead of switches, we remove the possibility of these being left on using unnecessary power.

All equipment sourced across the park is regularly checked to ensure we are using the most energy efficient model of motors or hardware. This ranges from new rides and attractions to our vehicles on site (many of which are now electric vehicles).

Water Usage
As a business we take steps to ensure we are responsible in our water usage to make sure all wastage is minimised as much as possible.

The taps we use in our toilets across park are also designed to only deliver water for a set amount of time, ruling out the possibility of these being left on and water being wasted. Regular checks are carried out on all this equipment to ensure it is functioning efficiently.

Sustainable Construction
We have recently installed new insulation throughout our bowling and arcade building dramatically improving its energy efficiency.

Recycling & Waste Management
All our waste is segregated into the following streams:
Cardboard - All cardboard goes straight to recycling with no secondary handling.
Food - Food waste is segregated and taken away via a specialist company.
Metal – We have a dedicated skip that metal is segregated into and is recycled from.
General Waste – Anything that does not fall into the above categories goes into our general waste stream.

We are constantly looking at ways of reducing our waste and we are always reviewing our activities to identify different ways we can improve on the current recycling procedures and processes we have in place.

 Climate Statement
We recognise our responsibility to help protect the planet. We are fully committed to minimizing the impact the Park has on the environment and to working with those who share our goals.
We want to play our part in tackling the climate crisis.
We aim to achieve this goal by continuing to work hard to avoid emissions where possible and reducing emissions if avoidance is not possible.

How Can You Help
We are determined to do all we can to protect the planet, but we need your help too!

Everyone (and every business) can get involved and play their part. Make a change today, no matter how small it may be, together we can make a big difference!

Here are a few tips on how you might be able to help:

Travel to our complex in one vehicle if possible.
Only take what you need when using napkins, condiments and cutlery – we can cut down on wastage this way.
